I
completed my Ph.D. studies in the area of "MACHINE
VISION " at the Nottingham Trent
University , UK in Aug. 2000. Prior to that I did my Master's Degree in Electrical and Electronics
Engineering from the University
of Manchester, UK and a Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering
from the University of Bombay,
India.
In between my education, I worked for brief periods as a Trainee Engineer at the
Tata Electric Companies (part-time-BEng project),
Reliance Industries Ltd. and Tata
Honeywell Ltd. After my Ph.D. I worked at Bioscrypt Inc. in Toronto, Canada. My technical interests include digital instrumentation,
image processing, neural networks, robotics and biometrics. Professional
memberships include those of the IEEE,IEE,ISA,
and IFAC . I am currently working on fingerprint recognition in the US at Identix Inc,the world leader in biometrics.
Interests and hobbies include painting, listening to music and
reading fiction. I play badminton, table tennis and chess.
I am a member of the Intertel and Mensa societies.

Aims: * To recognise 3-D polyhedral objects from any orientation
(making use of artificial neural networks)
* To locate objects (through use of stereo vision)
